I like to stay engaged in what’s going on in the community. Giving back to the area I care about is important to me, but I’d be lying if I said I didn’t get anything out of my participation in these organizations. I’ve made many life-long friends, have great comradery and get the good feeling of helping others and the community.
Our local non-profits and towns put on some great events that make Garrett County such a great place to live, work and play. Here’s a listing of these events I’ve curated for 2023.
Deep Creek Lake Lion’s Club
Our Club’s mission is to improve the lives of the visually impaired and our local community members, with a special emphasis on outdoor recreation and community service.
We provide services and support for vision health in our local area. Operate and maintain the McHenry Community Park, with a historical, interpretive trail system; a ball baseball/softball field; a dog park; and other amenities.
