Kuhnle Cabin
This is the page for the Colony cabin currently owned and occupied by Chris and Lisa Nichols. This cabin was started in the late 1930’s by my grandparents, Stu and Naomi Kuhnle. They lived in Westernport, MD at the time and bought the 100×100 foot piece of land for $75 (they could have bought lakefront for $25 more). It started as just a weekend place, but as they worked on it over the years, adding more rooms and making it more liveable year-round, they made it their full-time residence in the 1950’s. My mother and aunt both grew up in the house, and when I had the opportunity to move back after the Navy, I took it.
